What really happens to atopic skin, why is it itchy and what should we do to stop it?

Action mechanism:
Bepanthene® Eczema provides the skin with lipids similar to those of the stratum corneum. Provitamin B5, or dexpanthenol, after being absorbed by the skin, is converted to the pharmacologically active pantothenic acid which is essential for the biosynthesis of skin lipids. Finally, glycerin accumulates throughout the thickness of the stratum corneum, trapping and retaining water in it, thus ensuring long-term hydration.12
